eAudiobooks
eAudiobooks
are digital versions of Audiobooks to be played on a portable
listening device. The following will lead you through the
process of downloading eAudiobooks to your computer and transferring
them to your portable device.
NOTE: iPods and Macs are NOT compatible with eAudiobooks.
Information about compatible players.
- Create
an account at NetlLibrary
-
- Currently
you need to go to one of our Branch Libraries at Elizabeth,
Kiowa, Simla or Elbert to set up your account. Use any
of the patron computers.
- Click
on the NetLibrary logo on the Audio & Video Downloads
page of the ECLD website.
- Click
on Create a Free Account in the upper right-hand corner
of the screen.
- Choose
a username and password for your account and fill in
the rest of the fields.
- Once
you have created your account, you may log in and download
an eAudiobook from anywhere. You don't need to be in
any of our Branch Libraries to download an eAudiobook.
- Once
registered -
- Click
on the NetLibrary logo on the Audio & Video download
page of the ECLD website.
- Enter
your username and password.
- Click
the Login button.
- Choose
an eAudiobook -
- Browse
by means of the provided search function: Keyword/Title/Author/Narrator.
- Use
the Show Details and Listen to Preview buttons to learn
more about the eAudiobook.
- You
may check out up to 10 books at one time.
- Download
an eAudiobook -
- Click
on the Download the Audiobook button.
- Select
a download option: CD or Radio Quality (You must choose
CD quality for transfer to a portable player.)
- A
Download window will pop up asking what you want to
do with this file. Choose Save and select a location
to save it.
- Acquire
the License -
- Open
Windows Media Player - version 9 or above (from Programs
or an icon on your desktop).
- Click
on Library or use Search to find your eAudiobook.
- The
following actions are ESSENTIAL:
- Double
click on the highlighted title to acquire the license.
- Enter
your NetLibrary username and password and click on
Log In.
- The
license then downloads and you are prompted to play
the audiobook.
- To
stop the playback, click on the Stop button on the
bottom of Windows Media Player.
