Foundation Launches Capital Campaign
The
Elbert County Libraries Foundation, formed in 2009, will launch
its first capital campaign, Building for the Future, to raise
money for a new Branch Library in Elizabeth.
The
current Elizabeth Branch Library is bursting at the seams, with
no more room to grow. The new location will have more space for
gathering and more computers for patrons to use. It will also
have a community meeting room similar to the current Meeting Room
space located next door to the Elizabeth Library.
Building
for the Future is the campaign to raise the money needed to proceed
with the renovations of the new facility. The Library District
has carefully managed the funds provided by the citizens of the
county through a mill levy on property taxes. While a significant
amount of the purchase price for this new building project has
been accumulated by the District, funds are still needed to finalize
the purchase, and to remodel and furnish the new library.
What
the Elizabeth Library has been, is now and will be in the future
all come together in this Building for the Future campaign. The
Library's distinctive contribution to the Elizabeth community
must be preserved and passed on to future generations. It is the
responsibility of all of us who enjoy the Library to see that
this takes place.
Campaign
Goal: $1.4 Million in grants, corporate, and private
donations.
Your
contribution to the Building for the Future Fund will go towards
the purchase, remodel and furnishing of the new Elizabeth library.
