Board
of Trustees
The five-member Board governs the Library District, establishes
policies and employs a Library Director to carry out the policies
and manage the District.
The mission
of the Elbert County Library District is to provide the materials,
programs, expertise and facilities to support the cultural, educational
and leisure activities of our diverse communities.
To help accomplish
our mission, the Elbert County Library District Board of Trustees
seeks to identify, recruit, and select the most qualified representatives
from our county to serve as Board members. We strive to have a Board
that represents our community's diversity; represents various interests;
and has experience or knowledge in a variety of fields. Members
of the Elbert County Library District Board of Trustees are appointed
by the Elbert County Commissioners upon the recommendation of the
Board.
Interested parties
must send a Board of Trustees application to the Board Secretary
at boardoftrustees@elbertcountylibrary.org
or the District Office at 239 Main Street, P.O. Box 219, Elizabeth,
CO 80107. The application and further information are posted below
or may be found at any of the Branch Libraries in Elizabeth, Kiowa,
Elbert or Simla. Prospective candidates should plan to attend a
designated Board meeting to be interviewed.
